Mount Stanserhorn

From Stans you take the original old-timer funicular, which dates back to 1893. When you arrive at the station called Kälti, you transfer to the aerial cable car that brings you to Stanserhorn (alt. 1,900 m).

Summer
There's a path leading past the large marmot enclosure and up to the peak. On clear days, you can see 10 lakes, and the surrounding mountains seem close enough to touch.

Winter
Both the marmots and the Stanserhorn cableways hibernate in winter. Starting in spring, they'll be wide awake and ready to welcome you at 1,900 meters above sea level.
