Astrid Chapel, Küssnacht am Rigi

Queen Astrid's Chapel stands at the edge of town. It was built in memory of the popular Belgian queen who died here in a car accident in 1935.

Originally, the chapel stood on the other side of the street. For safety reasons, it was moved in 1960.

There's an underground passageway leading from the parking lot to the chapel. From the terrace you can enjoy a wonderful view of Küssnacht's harbor as well as Seebodenalp and Mount Rigi.
