Places of power

Flüeli-Ranft

In Flüeli-Ranft there's a memorial to St. Nicholas of Flüe, also known as Brother Klaus. He was born in 1417, and at age 50, he left his family to fast and serve God as a hermit. For the next 20 years he lived in the Ranft gorge, where his wooden hermit cell is nestled between steep hills.

The whole zone around the cell measures 9,500 Bovis units. It's assumed that the value was higher during the lifetime of Brother Klaus; otherwise, he probably wouldn't have survived the long-term fasting. For that you'd need 18,000 Bovis units.
