Brother Klaus trail

The Brother Klaus trail leads from Stans to Flüeli Ranft. This is the same path that Heimo Amgrund rode on the night of December 21, 1481. He delivered valuable advice from Brother Klaus, which ultimately brought peace to the area.

The trail is marked and corresponds with the Way of St. James for a long stretch.

The Brother Klaus trail begins at the church in Stans and follows Knirigasse to the "Maria zum Schnee" chapel.

After crossing the tracks of the Stanserhorn railway, keep going toward Hubel - Murmatt - Obwil - Wilti. In the forest of Rohrnerberg, there's a resting place. Then the path continues to the hamlet of Halten and onward to Rüttimattli and the border of Nid- and Obwalden. Via Äberen, follow the signs for "Mei-Chäppeli" and then head for Lätten - Gisigen to the "St. Antoni" chapel and eventually up to St. Niklausen.

At Restaurant Alpenblick, you cross the main street and head downhill to Ranft. The short detour to the church of St. Niklausen starts at the sign reading "Kapelle" and leads uphill to the "Mösli" chapel in Ranft.
